The ultra-compact Piccolo2 is a fiber-optic oxygen meter integrated in a small USB stick housing. Despite its small size, it features the proven high-precision REDFLASH technology from Pyro Science. The Piccolo2 can be used in combination with a variety of optical oxygen sensors (see below). All sensors can be used in water samples (dissolved oxygen, DO) as well as in the gas phase (gaseous oxygen, O2). The contactless sensor types are also available as trace range versions, offering about 5x higher resolution close to anoxic conditions. Simply plug the Piccolo2 into a USB port of your Windows PC or tablet, connect the sensor of your choice and start measuring with the comfortable logging software "Pyro Oxygen Logger".


Innovative REDFLASH Technology. The REDFLASH technology from Pyro Science is based on the unique oxygen-sensitive REDFLASH indicators. In contrast to common techniques using blue-light excitation, the REDFLASH dyes are excitable with orange-red light and show an oxygen-dependent luminescence in the near infrared (NIR). The REDFLASH technology impresses by its high precision, high reliability, low power consumption, low cross-sensitivity, and fast response times. The orange-red light excitation significantly reduces interferences caused by autofluorescenced samples. Further, the NIR detection technology significantly reduces interference with ambient light, known from the old blue-light techniques.

Oxygen Dipping Probe (OPDIP20). The oxygen dipping probe consists of a stainless steel tube 3mm in diameter and 200mm in length.

Robust Oxygen Probe (OPROB3). The robust oxygen probe consists of an optical fiber with 3mm outer diameter and 1m in length. The sensing tip is enclosed within a stainless steel tube 3mm in diameter and 30mm in length.

Contactless Oxygen Sensors. The Piccolo2 can be combined with a variety of contactless oxygen sensors from Pyro Science (e.g. flow-through cells, sensor spots, respiration vials, nanoprobes). More details can be found here...
